GFRP - the material

Glass-Fibre-Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) consists of continuous glass fibers and polyester resins. The glass fibers provide mechanical reinforcement, while the resins are selected according to application. When used in combination, this thermoplastic material can withstand high stresses thanks to the glass fibers, so that they can be used wherever traditional materials like steel, stainless steel or timber reach their limits.
Properties and main features of GFRP:

  • Lightweight material enables fast and economical installation
  • High strength and dimensional stability
  • Very high chemical resistance
  • UV and weather-resistant GFRP loses neither its shape, color or function
  • Maintenance-free and unlimited service life
  • Non-corroding
  • Electric insulation: non-conducting, no grounding required
  • Thermal insulation: resistant to cold and heat
  • Magnetic transparency
  • Self-extinguishing, will not melt in the event of a fire
